www.gonutrition.com found that a third of Brits met 'the one' in a gym or sports club. So what makes people more attractive when exercising? We take a look at what gets people hot under the collar at the gym, other than the treadmill of course.

Similar interests- You both understand that the gym is a part of your life, perhaps a significant one. There should be no resentment if you both dedicate time to this activity. It's something you can use for 'me time' and space but also something, you can do together. Chances are you will have an appreciation for both needs so it's not something that will be a potential issue for either of you.

Someone who looks after themselves a big turn-on - Someone who wants to be healthy shows they care about their present as well as their future. If you find 'the one'- you want to be with them as many years as possible. The heathier a person is- chances are you'll get to spend a lot longer together and have energy for all physical activities both in and outside of the gym.

You have mutual friends in common through the gym/sports club - It can become a team effort if you meet through friends- it can turn into a double date night that also gets you fit and makes you compete couple against couple- win-win. Plus, you probably already get on with their mates so there's no stumbling block there either.

It's a happy coincidence- You may not like going to the gym and see it as a means to an end- but there they're there and it makes it all worth it. They brighten up your gym time and your life too.

You know they look good naked before you have sex- You can get a good idea of what someone will look like without any clothes on given that a lot of gym kit is tight and revealing. If you find you're spending more time fantasizing about them in the nude than your cross trainer intensity, you have no choice but to ask them out!
