British women admitted they preferred to be single in the summer instead of the winter and some even admitted to breaking off a relationship so they could spend summer single.

Over two thirds of women said they prefer being single in the summer, with nearly half saying they make a conscious effort to be single in time for the summer months.

The main reasons women said they wanted to remain single were because it didn’t tie them down during the holiday season and there were more opportunities to meet men.

Another popular reason was because they wouldn’t be getting any gifts from men in the summer months, due to their being no big occasions such as Christmas and Valentine’s Day.

Women who said they would rather be single in the winter told MyCelebrityFashion.co.uk that it was because they wouldn’t have to spend money on expensive gifts for their partner.

They also added that they got to spend more time with their family, and there were plenty of parties around that time of year which they didn’t want to have to miss.

Hannah Reynolds, content writer for MyCelebrityFashion.co.uk, said, “I think it isn’t surprising that women aged 18 to 25 would rather be single during summer, as there is so much going on and I guess they want to be able to be involved in activities and events with their friends rather than having to worry about their partner.

“To see that some try to ensure they’re single at certain times of year though was a bit shocking. It’s not very fair if you break it off with a partner just to go off and have your own fun and if you truly cared for someone that wouldn’t normally occur to you.”
