A new US study by researchers at Louisiana State University has found that playing music specifically created for moggies can help calm your pets down when they're stressed.

The findings - which were published in this month's Journal of Feline Medicine and Surgery (JFMS) - revealed that cats were calmer when listening to specific music rather than classic or none at all.

It's noted the blood levels of neutrophils and lymphocytes didn't reflect lower stress levels observed by the team, who suggested 20 minutes of music might not be enough to register a physiological effect.
