Father Adam Pawlowski, from the village of Rogalin in the west of the European country, plans to park his car in an alley by the church and will roll down his window for Catholic parishioners parked at least five feet away to avoid potential coronavirus infection.

He said: ''We've already done a practice run... I have an appointment with a family of five tomorrow and next week I'm due to hear a parishioner confess every sin from his entire life.''

Polish people attend confession before Easter every year, and religious leaders have said that confessing sins over a telephone doesn't count.
