Matchy matchy

What is better than doubling up on a pattern or colour? If you’re feeling slightly out of sync then just double down on what you already have on. Cords are the new fashion statement, they’re as easy as throwing on a dress but have an added impact. Go bigger and bolder with your choices from just plain black to outrageous patterns the world is your oyster darling.

Business Casual (graphic tee and blazer)

If you want the impact of a boss lady combined with the edge of a rocker then why not combine the two? Throw on a blazer with your most punk graphic tee for a look to fit any occasion whether it’s the office or drinks with the girls. It’s an effortless fit no one can argue with.

Forget the sleeves

Gone are the days where the only way to wear a coat was to put your arms through the sleeves. Spice things up and let your jacket act as a cape, it’s perfect for the transitional months as you won’t overheat but can wrap up if you need to. It is the best of both worlds. For another look take a denim or leather oversized jacket and have an off the shoulder moment, it shows off more of your outfit and is such a refreshing look.

Layer up

Even though the sun has been shining we are not out of winter just yet so why not add a few extra layers to your outfit. Go crazy! Have a long sleeved shirt under a jumper dress and then add an oversized coat, tights and knee high boots, you’ll be snug as a bug in a rug.

Half tuck

A simple way to invigorate your look is to effortlessly tuck in your jumper, t-shirt, or blouse. The best way to do this is to not think about it, just grab the front but of the jumper and tuck it in, letting the sides spill over. Think of it as a way of showing off your belt buckle. Another style of tuck you can do is to take the left or right side and loosely tuck that in creating an asymmetrical effect. Get creative with your tucking there’s no wrong way to do it.

Get shady

No it’s not summer yet but that winter sun can be blinding so pop on a pair of shades for your own protection. Even if the sun is not out, add them anyway to create a super chic look, I’ve found in most cases when I feel my outfit is missing something it is made whole again with a pair of sunnies. Don’t go for the standard shape either, have a few different pairs to switch up such as rectangular or hexagonal.

Fashion forward - literally

It seems all this time we’ve been weaning a cross body bag wrong. No longer is it the style to let it sit at the side, try a fresh approach and pull it to the front. It's a great way to show off the bag you know it's your favourite part of your ‘fit anyway. Try shortening the strap as well letting the bag sit on your waist rather than the top of your leg and watch your outfit be transformed. I haven’t worn a bag the usual way since!

Faux Leather

You are seeing it everywhere at the minute and it is not going to be leaving anytime soon so add some to your outfit. This can be in the form of a headband, bag, coat, trousers, shoes the list is endless. Open your mind to the different coloured leather the most popular right now being a chocolate brown, it will be your new favourite material.

Belt it

Just like the sunglasses a belt is another common item your outfit is missing. Add it round your waist with dresses, jumpsuits, blazers etc to really sinch in that waist and show off your figure. There are some many designs to choose from right now so don't just go with your old faithful belt, go wild and add sparkles or big buckles.

Chains

Just like faux leather chains are all over the fashion world be it on the catwalk or the high street, which means you don't need to spend an arm and a leg to get your hands on them. Whether it is in the form of a necklace, bracelet, anklet or the feature on your bag try and incorporate it into your outfit to elevate it to the next level.
