Doctor Michael Morbius isn't a man like many other, but you probably realised that when you saw that he had his own Marvel movie named after him, right? Despite being thrust into the spotlight in this new release however, he's still a relatively-unknown character, despite being ripped from the pages of Marvel Comics.

In Morbius, we will see Jared Leto take on the titular role, as Sony Pictures Universe of Marvel Characters introduces perhaps its most compelling and conflicted character to-date.

Dangerously ill with a rare blood disorder, Dr. Morbius is determined to figure out a way to save others like him, from suffering a similar fate. Desperate in his cause, he attempts a gamble that changes his life forever.

Though at first his work seems to have been a success, it's soon revealed that a darkness within him has been unleashed, forcing a battle between the good and evil aspects of his multi-dimensional personality.

Leto is joined by an all-star cast including Matt Smith, Adria Arjona, Jared Harris, Al Madrigal and Tyrese Gibson.

Daniel Espinosa directs from a screenplay by Matt Sazama and Burk Sharpless.

Some have been sceptical about what Morbius has to offer, but with a number of delays before the film has hit the big screen, it'd be fair to say that those working behind the scenes have had all the opportunity and time in the world to ensure it's as good a feature as possible.

Talks surrounding the project have actually been underway for many years, so it's clear that Morbius is a real passion for those at Sony Pictures. Let's hope that they knock it out of the park!

Morbius comes to cinemas across the UK on March 31st, 2022.
