There are a brilliant selection of movies releasing this year, such as Lightyear, Jurassic World: Dominion, and of course, Sonic the Hedgehog 2

Sonic 2 is set to release at the start of April 2022, and excitement is definitely reaching a high.

Sonic (Ben Schwartz), or as he likes to call himself, “Blue Justice” is back, and ready to make a difference in Green Hills.

Sonic has settled with friend Tom (James Marsden) and his partner Maddie (Tika Sumpter), and is excited to show that he has what it takes to be a true hero. However, a spanner is thrown in the works as a familiar face returns...

Robotnik (Jim Carrey) has come back, and he has more than one surprise up his sleeve for Sonic, including a new, powerful enemy. Knuckles, voiced by Idris Elba (The Suicide Squad), is Robotnik’s newest creation, and is being used to battle Sonic.

Luckily for Sonic, he isn’t alone. Tails the Fox (Colleen O’Shaughnessey) is here to help, and so yellow and blue mix to fight against red in Sonic’s biggest challenge yet.

As well as Marsden, Sumpter, Schwartz and Carrey, Sonic 2 also includes Natasha Rothwell, Adam Pally, Lee Majdoub and Shemar Moore.

In celebration of Sonic 2’s upcoming release, Kid Cudi has released a music video onto his YouTube Channel to go along with the song Stars in the Sky from the forthcoming feature.

The video, as well as being a brilliant addition to the film, shows the musician in the setting from Sonic 2, as he flies around in Robotnik’s inventions.

It sees Kid Cudi in a pixelated world, joining the blue Hedgehog on his adventures, giving it a sense of nostalgia for all old-school Sonic fans.

Sonic the Hedgehog 2 will be in cinemas on April 1st, 2022.

After seeing the first trailer for Sonic 2, I couldn’t wait to see the movie in cinemas.

Admittedly, I didn’t play many Sonic games growing up, but I absolutely loved the first film, plus with Jim Carrey returning and Idris Elba joining the cast, it seems like a movie I can’t afford to miss!
