We have seen Tarzan on the big screen in many forms over the years and in 2016, we are going to see Alexander Skarsgård take on the title role in The Legend of Tarzan.
The Legend of Tarzan is set to take us on an adventure through the jungle next summer as the Edgar Rice Burroughs-created character returns to film.
The movie marks the return of David Yates to the director's chair for his first feature film since Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows: Part 2.
The Legend of Tarzan is set to be the first of two big films for Yates next year - the other being Fantastic Beasts and Where to Find Them - and I cannot wait to see him put his own stamp on this iconic character and story.
The brand new teaser trailer for the film has been unveiled and we have it for you to take a look at:
The Legend of Tarzan is set to boast one of the most impressive cast lists of all of next summer's blockbusters as Skarsgård is joined by Margot Robbie, Christoph Waltz, Samuel L. Jackson, John Hurt, and Djimon Hounsou.
It has been years since the man once known as Tarzan (Skarsgård) left the jungles of Africa behind for a gentrified life as John Clayton III, Lord Greystoke, with his beloved wife, Jane (Robbie) at his side.
Now, he has been invited back to the Congo to serve as a trade emissary of Parliament, unaware that he is a pawn in a deadly convergence of greed and revenge, masterminded by the Belgian, Captain Leon Rom (Waltz). But those behind the murderous plot have no idea what they are about to unleash.
The Legend of Tarzan is released 8th July 2016.
