Attack! Attack!

Attack! Attack! set to release first single ‘Not Afraid’ from forthcoming 2nd album on Monday 3rd May through Atticus Black.

Following more than a year of solid touring in support of their self-titled debut album, released in October 2008, Welsh melody merchants Attack! Attack! took some well earned time off to begin work on it's follow up. Said follow up is planned for a summer release, but here is the first fruit of their labour, in the form of ‘Not Afraid’, released on Monday 3rd May, on the Atticus Black label (a branch of the Atticus clothing company formed by Blink 182 in 2001) as a one-off single.

The release of ‘Not Afraid’ coincides with the quartet’s recently announced UK headline dates. The CD version of the single also includes a cover of The Knack classic, ‘My Sharona’, a track the band covered throughout their live shows last year. A video for the track is set to surface online and on TV screens shortly.

The South Wales based band enjoyed a wave of media support with their debut, securing slots at the Reading & Leeds, Download and Sonisphere festivals and a sync for their 'You and Me' single on hit US TV show 90210 along the way, before culminating in their inclusion on the global gaming phenomenon Guitar Hero 5.

According to frontman, Neil Starr, ‘Not Afraid’ is about “being yourself and believing in yourself. It’s a message that states as long as you keep faith in what you do, you can achieve what you set out to achieve,” he explains. “The verses touch on how people can and will try to bring you down with lies and unbroken promises, but reassures towards the end that you can overcome these barriers and there is time to change things.”

Speaking of the new album, the singing guitarist adds, “the songs we have written so far are a real step up for us, we've upped the ante with this record and we can't wait to play a few of them on the upcoming tour!"
