Confessions of an Essex Girl

Confessions of an Essex Girl

‘So you think because you’ve watched TOWIE you’ve got us Essex girls figured out? You don’t know the half of it. Events in this book are so shameless that I’ve had to change all the names, but everything that happens is real.”

Becci Fox is an Essex girl through and through. She just wants to be comfortable and spoilt, taken out to nice places and showered with presents. And she is. She drives a Mercedes SLK and had a boob job when she was nineteen. She’s also ambitious. Working hard during the day as a bridal buyer. At night she plays hard, clubbing at Sugar Hut and Faces, mixing with celebrities and soap stars. She know how to handle the footballers who buy you Cristal champagne and make you feel like the most special person in the room (only they’ve got five other girls on speed dial.) But when she falls for a sexy racing driver, is she finally out of her depth?

What strikes me most about Becci in the first few pages of the book is her attitude. She is young and wants to have fun. That means partying in Sugar Hut and One9Five. She won’t let anyone stand in her way, let alone a man. She works hard for her money and has ambition. What’s more she is proud to be a WEG. That stands for West Essex Girl. Her attitude is infectious and even makes me feel proud that I come from Essex.

This book is great for any aspiring TOWIE extras. There are helpful tips on how to get ready for a night out on the town. Apparently it takes three days. Who knew? As well as tips on where to go out in the West Essex Area. Apparently Brentwood isn’t all it is cracked up to be. And neither are vajazzles. Just in case you were wondering.

The book is full of all your favourite phrases, such as “Oh My God”, “Jel” and “Reem.” Which proves that people do actually say those words in real life situations. Drinks go flying, eye lashes fall out and guys upon guys buy these girls drinks. Just like TOWIE, but a little, no I’d say a lot messier.

Becci soon meets Mr. Perfect on a night out. A gorgeous, young racing driver. He makes her feel special, sexy and appreciated. Trouble seems to be keeping away from Becci. That is until she walks into a scene that should never be seen by the faint hearted, or anyone for that matter. So Becci goes and does what she always does best. Party.
