Savages

Savages

An Oliver Stone movie is always something to be excited about and this week he is back in the director's chair with Savages.

And as with quite a lot of movies in Stone's back catalogue Savages promises to be brutal, violent and action packed.

So to celebrate the release of the film we have some great clips to enjoy before you see it on the big screen:

With this movie the veteran director has mixed well established stars with the exciting and upcoming acting talent - and there seems there was no shortage of actors who wanted to work with Stone.

Taylor Kitsch, who has had a busy year already, Aaron Johnson and Blake Lively lead the cast and they three of the names that are well and truly on the rise in Hollywood at the moment.

They take on the role of Chon, Ben and Ophelia who find themselves in a happy little love triangle before Ophelia is kidnapped.

And the kidnappers just happen to be Benicio Del Toro and Salma Hayek - throw in John Travolta as well as a DEA agent and you have a very exciting mix of stars.

For Kitsch this is his first none-blockbuster role of the year while Johnson is currently riding a wave of success after his turn in the universally praised Anna Karenina.

This is the first big screen outing for a while for Lively but she is quickly becoming an actress to keep an eye on as she moves away from TV.

Laguna Beach entrepreneurs Ben (Johnson), a peaceful and charitable Buddhist, and his closest friend Chon (Kitsch), a former Navy SEAL and ex-mercenary, run a lucrative, homegrown industry raising some of the best marijuana ever developed.

They also share a one-of-a-kind love with the extraordinary beauty Ophelia (Lively). Life is idyllic in their Southern California town...until the Mexican Baja Cartel decides to move in and demands that the trio partners with them.

When the merciless head of the BC, Elena (Hayek), and her brutal enforcer, Lado (Del Toro), underestimate the unbreakable bond among these three friends, Ben and Chon with the reluctant, slippery assistance of a dirty DEA agent (Travolta)?wage a seemingly unwinnable war against the cartel.

And so begins a series of increasingly vicious ploys and maneuvers in a high stakes, savage battle of wills.

Savages is out now
