Now I am a super fan of Tom Hardy and I am delighted that we will be seeing quite a lot of him on the big screen over the next few week.
Not content with just having Tinker, Tailor, Solider, Spy released this week he will be back in seven days time for another project... of course I am talking about Warrior.
This movie has already gone down well with the critics, always a good sign, and it looks set to be one of the must see films of the autumn.
Directed by Gavin O'Connor, his first movie since Pride and Glory, Hardy leads a cast that includes Joel Edgerton, Nick Nolte and Jennifer Morrison.
An ex-Marine haunted by a tragic past, Tommy Riordan returns to his hometown of Pittsburgh and enlists his father, a recovered alcoholic and his former coach, to train him for an MMA tournament awarding the biggest purse in the history of the sport.
As Tommy blazes a violent path towards the title prize, his brother, Brendan, a former MMA fighter unable to make ends meet as a public school teacher, returns to the amateur ring to provide for his family.
Even though years have passed, recriminations and past betrayals keep Brendan bitterly estranged from both Tommy and his father.
But when Brendan’s unlikely rise as an underdog sets him on a collision course with Tommy, the two brothers must finally confront the forces that tore them apart, all the while waging the most intense, winner-takes-all battle of their lives.
The movie is set to put mixed martial arts in the spot light and Warrior promised to be one of the most exciting and heart-felt rides of the year.
Warrior is released 23rd September.
