Shrek Forever After

Shrek Forever After has stormed the UK box office to topple Get Him To The Greek from the top spot.

The movie is the fifth and final instalment of the Shrek franchise and sees Mike Myers, Cameron Diaz and Eddie Murphy all return to the roles of Shrek, Fiona and Donkey.

The film, which took 8.9 million in it's opening weekend, follows a bored and domesticated Shrek pacts with deal-maker Rumpelstiltskin to get back to feeling like a real ogre again.

But when he's duped and sent to a twisted version of Far Far Away -- where Rumpelstiltskin is king, ogres are hunted, and he and Fiona have never met -- he sets out to restore his world and reclaim his true love.

Get Him To The Greek surrendered the top spot after just a single week and fell one place to number two, along with Shrek Forever After the comedy was the only movie to break through the £1 million barrier this weekend.
