Tom Hardy is already preparing to take on the role of Al Capone.
The actor is set to team up with David Yates in Cicero, which will look at the early year of Capone.
And Hardy reveals that he is already watching old gangster movies - however he has no intention of copying any of those performances.
Speaking to the Daily Mail the actor said: "I've been working with Warner Bros, watching their gangster films - the ones with James Cagney, Humphrey Bogart and Edward G Robinson. It's interesting to get them, and a bit of Capone into the bloodstream.
"You look at pugnacious James Cagney in The Public Enemy and see how this guy rises up to become a kingpin in Chicago."
"The idea isn't to remake those films but to get a flavour of them as we explore Capone's career as a racketeer,"
To say that Hardy's star is on the rise is a bit of an understatement as 2012 is going to be huge for him.
This Means War is the next time we will see him on the big screen but it's the role of Bane in The Dark Knight Rises this summer that everyone is talking about.
