Filming has stared on the Star Trek sequel according to Paramount Pictures.
The studio announced that filming had begun on in LA with J.J. Abrams back in the director's chair.
He brought his reboot of the franchise to the big screen back in 2009 and there has been talk of s sequel since it's critical and commercial success.
Chris Pine and Zachary Quinto return as Kirk and Spock while Zoe Saldana, Simon Pegg and Karl Urban are also set to return.
Earlier this month it was announced that Benedict Cumberbatch was to play the villain in the movie this time around - however the villain is yet to be named.
Alice Eve and actor/director Noel Clarke are also amongst the new faces on the cast list.
The movie is set for a 2013 release.
