Rachel Weisz said she enjoyed take on the baddie role in Oz The Great And Powerful.

The actress teams up with director Sam Raimi for a completely new movie that is set before events in The Wizard of Oz.

Weisz takes on the role of Evanora in the film and she found that being bad was a lot of fun.

Speaking to Harper's Bazaar the actress said: "Because Evanora revels in her badness, she revels in Machiavellian-ness. I guess being bad is a lot of fun."

"That's what's so great about acting, you're not really responsible. I mean, I'm polite to everyone on set and I'm not a struggle to work with, but in terms of how you get to treat people, it's carte blanche, because it's fiction - no one's really going to get hurt. And it's a very joyful place to let go."

Weisz is joined on the cast by James Franco, Michelle Williams and Mila Kunis and this is her first film outing since The Bourne Legacy.

The new TV spot for the film was screened at the Super Bowl over the weekend and it promises to be a real treat of a movie.

As for Weisz Maps to the Stars is set to be her next project as she teams up with Robert Pattinson in the new David Cronenberg film.

Oz The Great And Powerful is released 8th March.
