Today (April 19th, 2022) Apple TV+ revealed the trailer for a highly-anticipated new TV series, a bilingual eight-episode thriller set to debut next month (May, 2022).
Now & Then is a highly-anticipated forthcoming series with layer after layer, aiming to explore the differences between youthful dreams and the sometimes harsh reality of adulthood.
The lives of a group of college friends are changed forever, however, when one of them winds up dead. Now, two decades later, the five members of the group that used to be six are brought back together by something that puts their supposedly ideal worlds at risk.
Now & Then boasts an all-Hispanic cast, including Academy Award nominees Marina de Tavira and Rosie Perez, Ariel Award winner José María Yazpik, multi-Goya Award winner Maribel Verdú, Manolo Cardona, Goya Award winner Soledad Villamil, Emmy Award winner Željko Ivanek, Jorge López, Alicia Jaziz, Dario Yazbek Bernal, Alicia Sanz, Jack Duarte and Miranda de la Serna.
The series was filmed Miami, Florida, and shot in both Spanish and English.
The trailer for Now & Then shows the group, after being a part of a horrendous evening 20 years prior, all receiving a text that binds them together in a way they never imagined.
It seems that each member has their own secrets, as perhaps we all do, but memories can often melt away or are stuck in our minds – will the group be haunted by their past, or use their memories to benefit those around them?
The trailer gives off an excellent crime thriller-like atmosphere, with a compelling narrative and a time jump that separates the original members, only for them to be (forcibly) reconnected after 20 years.
There are hints of lies, deceit, and individual issues that may break the group apart once again, but they could also pull through and be stronger than ever – which will it be?
Now & Then is set to launch across the world with three episodes on Friday May 20th, 2022, only on Apple TV+; new episodes will release every week until the season finale on June 24th, 2022.
