Officers responding to reports of a crocodile in floodwater near an English village only to find a replica.
Members of Thames Valley Police's South Buckinghamshire time rushed to the scene after receiving concerned calls about a reptile's head poking above the surface in waters near the village of Cholesbury.
However, when officers arrived on the scene they realised worried residents had actually been fooled by a replica or decoy crocodile's head.
The authorities were able to take the mixup in good spirits, and even began their post with a reference to late 'Crocodile Hunter' legend Steve Irwin's famous catchphrase.
They wrote on Facebook: Crikey! It's not every day that you get sent to reports of a crocodile in flood water near Cholesbury.
"Do not be alarmed, the croc is now with us at the police station."
They couldn't resist another pun, as they clearly enjoyed the amusing situation.
The team quipped: "Did you know that it is not that difficult to tell alligators and crocodiles apart? One will see you later whereas the other will see you in a while. #BadDadJokes."
