A bakery in Finland has been saved from closure by its toilet roll cakes.

The Ronttosrouva bakery ran into difficulties after almost all of its orders were cancelled amid the Covid-19 pandemic but baker owner Sanna Lampinen found a niche in the market by creating tasty treats that look like toilet rolls.
The cakes quickly went viral on social media leading to hundreds of orders and Lampinen has been able to keep on all of her staff during the pandemic and even had to hire two more to keep up with demand.
Referencing the global toilet roll shortage as people began to panic buy due to the pandemic, she wrote on Instagram: ''We wanted to bring a slightly tastier roll to everyday life, twisted with humor. Toilet roll cakes hidden inside the passion mousse are available. They are dimensioned for 8 people #SupportYourLocal (sic).''
