Freddie Mercury

Freddie Mercury

Freddie Mercury has been voted frontman in what would be the most powerful band in the world.

The late Queen rocker beat off competition from Sir Mick Jagger, Michael Jackson and Bono for the role, while Sir Elton John was chosen as the piano player with 27 per cent of the vote and Freddie's former fellow Queen bandmate Brian May was voted for the lead guitar role.

However, there was no room for One Direction star Harry Styles in the finale line-up.

Votes flooded into the poll from people keen to win a bespoke offers competition to win tickets for Barclaycard Presents British Summer Time.
