Hunters catch 15-foot long alligator

A group of hunters have caught a 15-foot long alligator.

The beast was captured by Mandy and John Stokes, Kevin Jenkins and his children, 16-year-old Savannah and 14-year-old Parker in Camden, south Alabama in the United States, reports The Huffington Post.

Alabama Wildlife and Freshwater Fisheries biologists were sent to measure and weigh the animal.

They had to use a backhoe to lift the animal from the water before discovering the animal weighed more than 1,011.5 pounds (458.8kg).

The alligator is the largest ever legally killed by an Alabama hunter.
