Kimberly-Clark - who first launched their Kleenex For Men range in 1956 as an alternative to handkerchiefs - has announced that the firm will now produce Extra-Large tissues because of ''a consistent increase of complaints on gender concern''.

Customers on social media regularly complained to the tissue giant and asked Kleenex to change its mansize range because of endorsing ''gender inequality''.

For example, Twitter user Lisa Hancox wrote: ''Hi @Kleenex_UK. My 4yo son asked me what was written here. Then he asked, why are they called mansize? Can girls, boys & mummies use them? I said: I don't know & yes of course. He suggests you should call them ''very large tissues''. It is 2018 (sic)''
