Aditya Singh was arrested over the weekend after he was spotted in Chicago's international airport but inquiries found that he had been camped in the building since October.

It was reported that he lived on handouts from passengers during his time at the airport and has now been charged with trespassing in a restricted area.

Singh was reportedly "frightened" to return to his home in Los Angeles due to the threat posed by COVID-19.

County Judge Susana Ortiz said: "The court finds these facts and circumstances quite shocking for the alleged period of time that this occurred.

"Based upon the need for airports to be absolutely secure so that people feel safe to travel, I do find those alleged actions do make him a danger to the community."
