The soccer-loving country shocked the defending champions in Russia over the weekend, beating them 1-0 with an impressive performance.

And their fans back home in Mexico are said to have been so enthusiastic in their celebrations that it registered on the Richter Scale, which is typically used to measure natural disasters.

A Mexican engineering and mining firm said: ''The earthquake detected in Mexico City originated artificially.

''Possibly by massive jumps during the goal ... of Mexico in the World Cup.''
