A parking meter caused outrage by charging locals more than visitors.

The pay and display meter on the Colwyn Bay promenade had incorrect information display on all 14 machines along the north Wales seaside town road, which told Welsh drivers parking was free after 8am, while English speakers had an extra two hours.
Former headmaster Gareth Pritchard - who noticed the error - is quoted by the Metro as saying: ''I counted that there were 14 machines along the promenade so how much will it cost to correct all those machines and how did no one spot this glaring error before they were installed?''
A Conwy council spokesman added: ''We are aware of this mistake and we are replacing the notice to make sure we are giving accurate information.
''The car parking is free overnight from 4pm to 10am, as stated.''
