It has been discovered that regular exercise gives men a similar bedroom boost to taking the little blue pills.

A new study reviewed 11 trials involving about 1,100 men. Of those, about 600 were put on exercise programmes involving 30 to 60-minute sessions at least three times per week.

Their erections were then measured on a standard scale of six to 30 and men with severe erectile dysfunction noticed a five-point improvement on average.

Dr. Mohit Khara, of Baylor College of Medicine in Houston, said: "Exercise may serve as a managing erectile dysfunction.

"Health care providers should consider recommending regular aerobic exercise as low-risk nonpharmacologic therapy for men experiencing difficulties."
