A woman is divorcing her husband for being a ''Scrooge''.

Jacquie Pelc has revealed she can't wait to enjoy her first Christmas as a single woman after enduring her soon-to-be ex-husband's miserable traditions for years.
She explained: ''Stanley was the original Scrooge. While I adore everything about this time of year, his view was that so much fuss for one day was a waste of time and money.''
The 52-year-old mother-of-two compares her former partner to the cold hearted character from Charles Dickens' 'A Christmas Carol' because he refused to splash out on decorations, presents or festive food, despite his wife's love of Christmas.
Jacquie told the Daily Mail newspaper: ''He preferred chicken to turkey, saying it was perfectly adequate for dinner. We always had budget crackers and used napkins that had seen better days.''
