Bollywood actor, Aamir Khan is to teach people to preserve India's rich cultural history and be more welcoming to foreign visitors.
Khan has been given the role as Brand Ambassador of the tourism ministry's Incredible India campaign.
He has already filmed two TV adverts as part of the ministry's Social Awareness Campaign this year. One of the ads was shot in Mumbai and will air tonight, followed by some print ads in newspapers.
Tourism Secretary Sujit Banerjee commented:"The Bollywood actor will sensitise people against spilling of garbage and scrawling of graffiti at tourist sites and promote amicable behaviour towards tourists."
Prasoon Joshi wrote both of the scripts for the ads, and in turn they were directed by Bollywood director Rakeysh Om Prakash Mehra.
