A feather plucked from the tree of hope

Left me wondering about the past.

Do I live within the circumstances

Or forgive them at last?

I put the feather in my pocket

Took a very long walk.

Never said anything to anyone

I didn’t want to talk.

Sometimes I want to be invisible

Just watch people come and go.

There is a travesty in life sometimes

Something only some of us know.

There are people so lost within themselves

A problem blocks their sight.

It stands before them like a giant

Though they fight with all their might.

It takes us pointing out to them

There is always a way around.

Not every battle needs to be fought

You are never truly bound.

The road is longer than I thought it was

Time gets away from me.

People start to worry about my mind

I like the feeling of being free.

I take the feather from my pocket

Smile at a stranger.

I know my life will always be a fight

But my grace has never been in danger.

I hand the feather to a child

Tell them to never lose hope.

Go back to what is my life

With an extra piece of rope.
