The past may come back to haunt us once in a while

Like being trapped in a past memory lost in time

It may cause pain to old scars

But we live in a place and time that does not seem to tell us apart

Who I was is not who I am

It seems as if society choose to remind us of our flaws and faults

Not applauding us for our courage to move on from the past

Indeed our mistakes are a part of who we are

But it’s how we choose to correct and move on from those mistakes, makes us who we really are

So stand tall and be proud to say

Who I was is not who I am today

It’s time to rise above and move on

In the past I shall no longer stay.
