The award-winning star celebrated her latest landmark yesterday (04.09.16) at the Made in America festival, which she attended with her husband Jay Z.

However, fans of the 'Crazy in Love' hitmaker has been busily taking to their social media accounts to throw their support behind a national holiday in honour of Beyonce.

One tweeter, Carly Catzin, posted: "it's Beyoncé's birthday and how is this not a national holiday? (sic)"

La Toty, meanwhile, wrote: "Happy birthday to the best and most beautiful singer in the world: @Beyonce"

Luisa Umanzor joined the increasingly loud chorus of tweeters calling for a public holiday in recognition of the former Destiny's Child star.

She said: "It's our Queen's @Beyonce (bow down) birthday! Should we celebrate it like a worldwide holiday, right?"

Comedy Central, on the other hand, suggested Beyonce as an alternative in the US Presidential race.

The broadcaster published a picture of a ballot paper, which featured the Republican Party, the Democrats and Beyonce's name, with a tick next to it.

Comedy Central said: "Happy 35th birthday, @Beyonce. And great timing! #HappyBirthdayBeyonce (sic)"

The fan tributes were supplemented by similarly enthusiastic messages from other celebrities, including Nicki Minaj, who wrote: "And happy BEY day to her excellence (sic)"

Jennifer Hudson also took to Instagram to share a picture of Beyonce on Instagram.

Alongside the picture of her former 'Dreamgirls' co-star, she wrote: "What better day to post this throw back , then on your bday ! Happy birthday beyoncé from one...(sic)"

Meanwhile, Beyonce - who has four-year-old daughter Blue Ivy with her 45-year-old rapper husband - marked her special day by sharing a video for her song 'Hold Up' with her fans.
