The 67-year-old actor was the Governor of California between November 2003 to January 2011 and is convinced he could do more for American citizens if were in office at the White House than Obama and his administration.

As an Austrian-born citizen he's unable to run for the position, but Schwarzenegger insists if he had been born in the US he would have put himself up for election for the top job.

Speaking at the Australian premiere of 'Terminator Genisys' in Sydney on Thursday night (03.06.15), he said: "I wouldn't switch my position with anybody. But everyone knows that if I had been American-born, I would probably run for president, because why not? I could do a better job than these guys can, trust me!

"But that job's not available and I am not going to complain about it because everything that I have accomplished in my life is because of America. So I'm not going to complain about the one job that I can't do."

Schwarzenegger was joined at the special screening by his co-star Jai Courtney and a host of Australian celebrities, including Fely Irvine, Tai Hara, Fleur Egan and Sasha Simone.
