The 39-year-old singer was involved in a near-fatal crash in August 2020 and suffered two broken legs, shattered wrists and a broken pelvis but admitted that after making a full recovery, he is now trying to make sure that his mental health is in check above all else.

He told 'Entertainment Tonight': "I feel better than I felt last year, so I think I'll keep on getting better with the years. I already eat clean, so it's a blessing in that and that's a factor of life. But I try to make sure I keep my mental health that way. My body will follow."

The 'Just the Way' hitmaker previously explained that how prior to his accident, he was in the studio every day and was keen to get back to that in the to create more music following his 2019 debut.

He wrote on Instagram: "Prior to my accident,I worked just about every single day on music. It’s time to get back to that and create during this healing process, all this pain had me down for the count but it won’t defeat my purpose,it’s now apart of it!"

He told Billboard: "Some days are up and then some days are pain You just really don’t know what day you’re going to get until you get up and start trying to move around and do the physical therapy and stuff. “It was a scary moment, but I’m just glad that God had his arms around me. the accident was not my fault. That’s all I can speak on right at this moment. I couldn’t move at all. I couldn’t turn in the bed. I had external pipes sticking out of my body holding my pelvis together. I had to learn how to do simple things. I couldn’t feed myself. I was broken, but it didn’t break my spirit."
