Carice van Houten and Guy Pearce are expecting their first child.

The 'Game of Thrones' star and Australian actor are set to welcome a baby into the world and it will be the first child for the delighted couple.

Carice, 39, plays Melisandre in the hit fantasy TV series based on the books by George R. R. Martin and is currently starring in the biopic 'Race' about track star Jesse Owens and his historic wins in the 1936 Berlin Olympics.

The brunette beauty has also released two albums, 'Black Book' and 'See You On The Ice'.

Pearce, 48, has starred in a string of Hollywood blockbusters including 'L.A. Confidential', 'Memento' and 'Prometheus' and is currently seen in Australian TV series 'Jack Irish'.

The hunk will also portray F. Scott Fitzgerald in the upcoming film 'Genius', which is set to be released in July.

Guy was previously married to childhood sweetheart Kate Pearce for 18 years but announced their amicable split in October 2015.

In a statement he said: "Kate and I will always love and support one another and be the best of friends."
