The former glamour model admitted she would "love" it if her boyfriend popped the question during the festive season, but the 31-year-old car dealer has insisted he's got no plans to present her with a new ring.

Carl told new! magazine in a joint interview: "A Christmas engagement isn't on the cards. Sorry, it's not going to happen."

Despite Katie's disappointment, she knows her boyfriend - who she has been dating for less than a year - does plan to ask her to be his wife "very soon".

She said: "He says it's going to happen when I least expect it. We will get engaged and get married, 100%. But he won't tell me when. He says it'll be very soon."

And the couple have already planned exactly what their wedding will be like, though they are staying tight-lipped on their plans.

Katie - who was previously married to Peter Andre, Alex Reid and Kieran Hayler - said: "We know exactly how we'd do our wedding already. We've got it all planned and we're not telling anybody!

"We know we're going to be together and it's so nice. Normally one person in the relationship might push somebody more, but it's not like that."

Katie - who is already mother to Harvey, 18, whose dad is Dwight Yorke, Junior, 15, and Princess, 13, whom she has with Peter , and Jett, seven, and Bunny, six, whose father is Kieran - confirmed she and Carl are "trying" for a baby together.

She said: "We’re trying now. Every month I’m like, 'Am I?' And then it’s like, 'Oh, never mind, let’s try again.' It’ll happen when it happens."

Carl added: "I want two and Kate wants seven altogether, so the maths actually works."

And after spending months in a wheelchair after breaking both her feet, the 'Loose Women' star admitted fans have begun to assume she's already expecting because she's put on weight.

She said: "I’ve been getting so many comments saying I look pregnant. I have put on weight because I’ve been in a wheelchair for four months, so of course I have. I admit I’ve definitely put on weight, but it’s so cruel of people to criticise me. I’m happy and healthy and when I start exercising properly again I’ll go back to how I was."
