The 52-year-old television personality took to Instagram on Thursday (10.12.20) to confirm she has been diagnosed with COVID-19, as she insisted she is “following all the guidelines and safety protocols” as she self-isolates at home.

She wrote: Hey Everyone, I have tested positive for COVID 19. I’m home with some symptoms and will be sequestering as per the CDC guidelines, resting and taking care of myself. (Swipe to hear the whole video).

“I have been in a very safe environment following all the guidelines and safety protocols and it still found it’s way to me. So, this is a friendly reminder to be extra careful this holiday season.
“Wear your masks, socially and physically keep your distance, and wash your hands. Take care everyone. And I’ll keep you updated on my journey. (sic)”

The ‘Talk’ co-host also shared a series of videos in which she ran through her symptoms, which include “a fever, a bad cough, and lots of aches and pains”.

She said in one video: “I have a fever, a bad cough, and lots of aches and pains. I just wanted to remind you all to stay vigilant because I am following all the protocols and we have so many strict protocols in place and even then I caught it. Just be extra extra careful, ok? Because you don’t want this.”

As a result, Carrie Ann was absent from Thursday’s episode of ‘The Talk’, and her co-hosts made sure to send their love to the star.

Sheryl Underwood told the audience: “As you can see Carrie Ann is not here with us today. She found out this morning that she tested positive for Covid 19. Obviously, our thoughts are with her, we love her, and we’re praying for a full recovery. I send all my love and prayers to Carrie Ann.”

Whilst fellow host Eve said she was “concerned” for her friend, but “happy that everyone is okay”.

She added: “Carrie Ann is where she needs to be, and sending her so much good energy and so much good love.”
