Cate Blanchett thinks having a good marriage is due to "luck".
Cate Blanchett thinks having a strong marriage to Andrew Upton is down to "luck" and honesty.
Blanchett has been married to theatre director Andrew Upton and share sons Dashiell, Roman, and Ignatius, for 16 years. She doesn't think sharing an industry with her spouse makes any difference to the relationship.
She said: "I don't think it's more difficult for actors to have a good marriage than anyone.
"I think in the end a really important component of any relationship is honesty - and it also comes back to luck."
However, the Australian star admitted she feels "fortunate" to have such an "amazing" husband.
She told Britain's HELLO! magazine: "I'm incredibly fortunate to have met the intelligent, generous, risk-taking, stimulating man to whom I am married. He's really amazing."
Cate says she lives in a happy household, and she never takes work home with her because her kids are "not interested".
She said: "I don't take my work home - my children are not interested in me bringing home the characters I play.
"My boys are great kids, hilariously funny. We laugh a lot when we're at home."
