A source told The Sun newspaper that the 32-year-old singer - who was previously married to soccer star Ashley Cole - is preparing to file divorce papers to dissolve her marriage to French businessman Jean-Bernard Fernandez-Versini because of his "unreasonable behaviour".

The insider said: "Cheryl is divorcing JB on the grounds of his unreasonable behaviour. She has had enough of his jealousy.

"He didn't like it when she had to spend time with other men and even became jealous when she was hanging out with her dogs.

"Cheryl seems to want this over and done with as quickly as possible but it could be held up if she does have any talks with JB over a financial settlement."

Cheryl surprised friend and fans with her secret wedding to Jean-Bernard in July 2014 after just a few months of dating and pals now believe she rushed into the marriage.

The source said: "In hindsight, it's obvious Cheryl didn't really know JB well enough to commit to him for the rest of her life.

"But she was so madly in love and caught up in the moment - after everything that happened with Ashley she wanted to believe that love really does conquer all."

Cheryl and JB have not been spotted together in public since they attended a presenting duo Ant and Dec's joint birthday party in October.

And Cheryl's cousin Tony Tweedy previously claimed the singer and her husband have been struggling with the language barrier as she speaks little French and he knows only a small amount of English.

He said: "The family think the marriage is over. When I asked if Cheryl was happy with him, they replied, 'Put it this way, I'll give it six months.' That was three months ago, and look what's happening.

"Cheryl can't speak French. I'm told he speaks little English. What sort of relationship is it if she cannot speak French and he can't speak English? They may as well have a threesome with the interpreter."
