The 34-year-old actor and his wife - who have India, five, and three-year-old twins Tristan and Sasha together - star as love interests in the upcoming war movie, and as the project marks their first film together since tying the knot in 2010, Chris has admitted it was great to spend some quality time with his spouse away from their brood.

Speaking on 'Good Morning America', Chris said: It was great, it was like a little holiday away from the kids. We left the kids with their grandparents and went off for a few weeks and shot together.

"We've been rehearsing that relationship and that on-screen chemistry for seven years so if we didn't have chemistry, we would've been in trouble."

And the 41-year-old actress and model clearly feels the same way about their longstanding chemistry, as she took to Instagram on Monday (15.01.18) to share her excitement for the movie.

Posting the trailer on the site, she wrote: "7 years of rehearsals to play this part on @12strongmovie ! Hope you will feel the chemistry! (sic)"

Elsa also wrote the same caption in her native Spanish alongside the English version.

The pair have not been shy of sharing their love for one another over the years, with Chris recently dubbing himself the "luckiest guy in the world" because of his marriage to the blonde beauty.

He gushed: "We got together, we fell in love, and then my career happened and it was all consuming.

"Thank God that she stuck through that period where I was focused on just that, you know?

"I think once I felt like, 'Oh OK, I might work again and get another job', I started to relax a bit and saw what's more important about life is my wife and kids, and my wife in particular who "sacrificed everything to kind of let me chase this crazy dream.

"It was great to have that realisation, she's the best, she gave up all of that and is with the kids every day and is the greatest mother in the world. And I'm the luckiest guy in the world."
