Strutting her stuff like the queen she is, Christina Aguilera took to the stage at the EuroPride 2023 festival in Malta last weekend, and Valletta was on fire once again. The 16th century city walls that have been bombarded by enemy fire of all sorts through the past centuries, withstood a friendly onslaught this time, as around 30.000 visitors flooded through the gates to celebrate freedom, acceptance and equal rights for LGBTQIA+ under the Rainbow Banner of harmony and love.

This free concert was the highlight of the 27th annual EuroPride festival that ran from 7 to 17 September this year, bringing together people of all genders and sexual orientations to celebrate diversity and advocate for a more inclusive world. Clad in a figure-hugging, shimmeringly transparent outfit, supported by a troupe of delectable dancers in red net tops revealing athletically ripped torsos, Christina delivered her hits as well as many of the iconic songs that have become an integral part of the LGBTQ movement.

For those who didn’t manage to get free passes for the jam-packed event, large screen viewing was available on Triton Square in Floriana. In between powerful renditions of classics like Genie in a Bottle, Candy Man and Beautiful, Christina addressed the audience with inspirational pride messages.
