Clint Eastwood's estranged wife has filed for a legal separation.

Dina Eastwood, who recently admitted she was devastated after learning that the 'Gran Tornio' director is dating her new boyfriend's ex-wife, submitted papers to formalise their split in Monterey County Superior Court in California on Monday (09.09.13).

The 48-year-old former news reporter is seeking physical custody of their daughter Morgan, 16, but indicated they will share legal custody, and she also wants spousal support from the Oscar-winning actor, 83, according to the Monterey County Herald newspaper.

The former couple are planning to divide their property as laid out in their "premarital agreement."

Dina first confirmed late last month that she and Clint had amicably separated in June 2012 after 17 years of marriage.

She initially insisted they were still good friends, writing on Twitter: "I don't like reading negative things about Clint. He is a wonderful, good natured, brilliant person. No matter what, I attest to that."

But last week she confessed she was very upset after seeing pictures of Clint with her new boyfriend and long-time friend Scott Fisher's ex-wife Erica Tomlinson-Fisher.

She said: "I am saddened to see photos of Clint with Ms. Tomlinson-Fisher. I look forward to new beginnings."

Clint allegedly fell in love with Erica, 42, when she divorced Scott, who is a basketball coach at the University of Hawaii, last year after 33 years of marriage and she expressed fears to the Hollywood star that her ex-husband was dating Dina, whom he has been good friends with for years.

A source previously said: "After Scott and Erica divorced, Erica was sure Scott was romancing Dina. Erica called Clint's office last February to discuss her suspicions -- then he fell for her!"
