Courteney Cox has broken her wrist.
The 'Cougar Town' star was forced to cut short her holiday in Cancun, Mexico, and returned to Los Angeles on Saturday (10.08.13), after she fell and snapped her wrist.
A source told gossip website TMZ.com that the actress was enjoying her holiday with friends when the accident happened.
The insider explained she tried to break her fall with her hand and badly injured herself.
A local doctor came to her hotel room and confirmed that her wrist is broken but Courteney immediately decided to book a private jet back to L.A. so her own physician could examine the injury and help her heal as quickly as possible.
It is not yet known if the actress, who was noticeably absent from her friend Jennifer Aniston's star-studded birthday party for Justin Theroux on Saturday, will require surgery to help reset the bone.
It was recently revealed that Courteney has been dating her co-star Brian Van Holt for six months, who thinks she is "phenomenal".
The 43-year-old actor has starred alongside Courtney, 49, in the TV series for four years and their on-set friendship developed into a more romantic relationship over the last year, following her divorce from actor husband David Arquette.
Courteney first separated from her 'Scream' co-star David - with whom she has nine-year-old daughter Coco - in 2010.
