The 36-year-old singer admitted her family's festive traditions are a "bit random" but she's excited to take part again this year, especially because the coronavirus pandemic means she's seen so little of her loved ones this year.

She said: "My family and I always eat croissants and chocolate puddings on Christmas Day, which is a bit random.

"We haven't been able to see each other so this year will be extra special."

And their Christmas Down Under will also mean spending a lot of time outside.

Delta said: "[There'll be] outdoor sports like cricket and basketball and having barbecues with friends and lots of seafood, ham and turkey.

"I'm a country girl at heart. I love going for long walks around the Botanical Gardens in Sydney."

The 'Born to Try'' hitmaker has recorded a festive album, 'Only Santa Knows', and drew on her own childhood memories for the title track and another original song, 'Merry Christmas to You'.

She said: "I would write letters to Santa sharing my dreams and aspirations and what my year had been like.

"I'm a big believer in Santa and magic."

Earlier this year, the Australian singer established the Delta Goodrem Foundation, which was set up to support those facing illness and fund research into blood cancers and auto-immune diseases.

And Delta previously revealed is "proud" to be able to give back and be a "pillar of strength" to others, having battled Hodgkin’s lymphoma when she was just 18.

She said: "The diagnosis changed the course of my life. Giving back is hugely important to me.

"I'm blessed to be able to make music, but I feel the responsibility of making sure it's always for a reason.

"I am proud to stand as a survivor and continue to give back to the people who helped save my life. I hope I am a pillar of strength for anyone who is going through the fight, reminding them they can get through it."
