The Duchess of Cornwall has arranged "music, opera, ballet and Shakespearean drama" for her husband Prince Charles' "special birthday party" later this year.

The 71-year-old royal has spent the past few months organising a big bash for her spouse to mark his 70th birthday on November 14 and she's determined to pull out all the stops by having a mixture of activities available for everyone.

Royal correspondent Katie Nicholl has told Vanity Fair magazine that Camilla's event will be filled with "music, opera, ballet and Shakespearean drama."

However, there will be some noticeably absent faces from the party as Prince Harry, 34, and his wife Duchess Meghan, 37, won't be in the country at the time.

An insider explained "It's going to be a very special night and Charles is very much looking forward to it.

"Harry and Meghan can't be there because they will be overseas. It's why they were so keen to be at the garden party for Charles back in May."

The couple - who got married in May - will be on their royal tour of Australia, New Zealand, Fiji and Tonga when the party takes place on October 25, which means Camilla is now trying to find two more people to fill their spot on the guest list.

Although they won't be around for the party, Harry and Meghan will be back in time to celebrate with him and their family on Charles' actual birthday.

They also decided to delay their honeymoon back in May so that they could attend his garden party at Buckingham Palace just days after their wedding.

The pair have been busy with back-to-back royal duties since they tied the knot at St George's Chapel in the summer but are said to be keen to start a family soon.

The insider said: "Harry is tactile and protective of his new wife. He is completely besotted and nothing would make him happier if they were starting a family."
