The 'Love Myself' singer admits being home-schooled throughout her childhood made it hard for her to meet people her age but insists she never considered herself to be an "outsider".

She said: "I was eager to meet people and I never considered myself an outsider. I never wanted to be an outsider. But I had a hard time finding someone who wanted to hang out with me. It was a very weird time for me."

But the 18-year-old singer and actress feels she's found true friends in the likes of Taylor Swift, Selena Gomez and Gigi Hadid.

She told Grazia magazine: "I can absolutely assure you that each and every one of us genuinely support and love each other.

"I don't know that I could be a part of anything that wasn't real. Especially a friend group. I'm not very good at trying to be something I'm not, or hanging with people for any reason other than getting along with them."

Meanwhile, Hailee previously admitted she gets "nervous" about showing the 'Shake It Off' hitmaker her music but insists the 25-year-old star is always incredibly "supportive".

She shared: "I'm nervous to play her anything. I'm nervous to show her any of my movies, but yeah, she's very supportive."
