Former 'Strictly Come Dancing' professional James Jordan thinks he'd be a "fabulous" judge on the show.

The outspoken dancer - who quit the programme in 2013 - was known for his rows with the panel, but would be keen to step into the vacant slot when head judge Len Goodman departs at the end of the upcoming series.

However, James admits the job is more likely to be offered to veteran show professional Anton du Beke.

He said: "It has to be Anton du Beke has to take Len's place. If they offered it to me, I'd definitely take it but I won't be waiting by the phone. I would be fabulous in the role."

James also insisted he doesn't think there should be same-sex couples on the show.

He told MailOnline: "There's nothing wrong with it, but Ballroom and Latin dancing is about a man and a woman dancing. The femininity and sexuality. By saying someone gay can't dance with a woman, that's sexist in my opinion."

Meanwhile, the former 'Celebrity Big Brother' star admitted he confronts his wife, fellow professional dancer Ola Jordan, when she's put on weight and will tell her if he doesn't think she looks nice.

He explained: "Just go to the gym more. We're quite brutally honest. I call her chunky monkey sometimes!

"Women are very intelligent and they are much more savvy than men. If you ask your husband, 'How do I look?' you thinks he's a bl**dy liar because you know when you don't look good.

"You don't have to be horrible about it: I'm never horrible but I'll do it in a jokey way."

But Ola insisted she doesn't mind as she thinks her spouse is "supportive".

She said: "He tells me how I look. It's not in a horrible way he's very supportive."

Despite her enviable physique, Ola admits she has "lots of insecurities" about her body.

She said: "No one is confident with their body. I don't know anyone who loves their body so much. Obviously everybody would change something about themselves but you learn how to love it. I've got lots of insecurities but that's what I've been born with."
