The 28-year-old actress has called on her fellow A-list stars to be more open with their fans when it comes to their bodies, as she's tired of people pretending their figures don't require any work through diet and exercise.

She said: "I just like it when everyone's honest. If you are 20 pounds underweight and talk about eating pizza and fried chicken all the time, that's not going to make people feel good about themselves.

"If I'm going to the Oscars or having a movie premiere - I won't lie - I'm probably eating differently from how I would in my regular life to fit into those dresses. And I feel comfortable saying that."

The 'Red Sparrow' star doesn't believe there's anything wrong with looking after your body, as long as the things you do are for your own benefit.

She added: "You just have to keep it personal. If you want to feel beautiful, whether that means extending your eyelashes or bringing out your natural lip colour or whatever it is, then you should. There's nothing wrong with that. It's only a problem when you're doing it for someone else."

Jennifer struggled with her own self confidence when she was younger, but now says she's "starting to get a little more control" over the negative thoughts that pop into her head.

The 'Passengers' star said: "I'm starting to get a little more control over myself. Like, I'm aware that I have a tendency to say whatever pops into my mind. So when I go out, I try to be my own personal trainer and tell myself, 'Don't say it.'"

And the actress admits she feels the most beautiful when she's "disciplined", such as when she goes to the gym.

Speaking to InStyle magazine, she said: "Honestly, when I'm at my most disciplined. Like, when I'm really making myself go to the gym. Which is a joke, because I definitely pay more for canceled workouts than actual ones. But when I'm there and running on the treadmill, that's when I feel most powerful."
