The 'On The Floor' hitmaker insists she has always worked hard and has never had anything handed to her on a plate.

She said: "I've always been fascinated by how much more well-behaved we have to be than men. I got a moniker of being 'the diva,' which I never felt I deserved - which I don't deserve - because I've always been a hard worker, on time, doing what I'm supposed to do, and getting that label because you reach a certain amount of success."

And the 46-year-old actress has slammed society for treating men and women differently and not allowing females to have opinions or be passionate about something.

Speaking in a roundtable for the Hollywood Reporter, which focused on the double standards of Hollywood, she said: "I was always fascinated by how I could see [a man] being late or being belligerent to a crew and it being totally acceptable; meanwhile, I'd show up 15 minutes late and be berated.

"And you watch this happen over and over and over again. Like, we're not allowed to have certain opinions or even be passionate about something, or they'll be like, 'God, she's really difficult.' It's like, 'Am I? Am I difficult because I care?'"

Meanwhile, Jennifer - who has eight-year-old twins Max and Emme with her former husband Marc Anthony - previously admitted she has "tried to grow" as a person over the last few years.

She shared: "I've lived my life and tried to grow and tried to get better in the past few years, really markedly made an effort on that and it shows.

"It's the fruits of your labour of trying to be a good person and trying to do the right thing and continuing to grow as an artist, as a human being. It proves to me that it works, and that's what I'm going to continue to do."
