Katherine Heigl doesn't see herself as a "difficult" actress.

The 'State of Affairs' star, who was previously accused of causing "desperately difficult situations" on the set of her 2010 movie 'Life As We Know It,' insists she and her mother Nancy Heigl, who is also her manager, conduct themselves "professionally and respectfully" in Hollywood.

Asked about her bad reputation, the 35-year-old actress said: "I can't really speak to that. I can only say that I certainly don't see myself as being difficult. I would never intend to be difficult. I don't think my mother sees herself as being difficult. We always ... I think it's important to everybody to conduct themselves professionally and respectfully and kindly."

She added: "If I've ever disappointed somebody, it was never intentional."

A well-placed insider claimed last year that Katherine and her mother were hard to work with, saying: "I have never experienced anything like Nancy Heigl. It's about the mouth. 'F**k you. You are a f**king liar.' Whatever you'd say, you were an idiot."

Another source from Katherine's 2008 movie '27 Dresses' backed up the accusations, adding: "There were movie-star demands -- big rooms, the mother there, all the stuff . . . It was just a sense of entitlement. The biggest stars don't do that kind of thing."

The former 'Grey's Anatomy' actress hopes fans will "be excited about" her return to television.

According to Entertainment Weekly, the blonde beauty told reporters while promoting her new NBC series in Beverly Hills: "I think that this opportunity is -- and I think a lot of people want to know why this show, why come back to television -- it's because it's an extraordinary role, it's an extraordinary opportunity, and an extraordinary story, and it's an opportunity for me to flex some different muscles and show a different side of myself as an actor and a performer and a storyteller that I hope my audience will be excited about and love."
