The 42-year-old star has previously campaigned for Harvey's Law – to make online trolling a criminal offence – and wants to stop people with autism from being sectioned as it as "completely different" issue to mental health.

Katie, whose 18-year-old son Harvey has septo-optic dysplasia, which causes blindness and growth hormone deficiency, Prader-Willi syndrome, ADHD and autism said: "I think I'm going to start another petition now about the sectioning about autism and people with disabilities."

She told FUBAR Radio: "It is completely different to mental health yet there's over 2,000 people with autism who are sectioned and they're in the wrong place. They shouldn't be sectioned.

"So I might start a petition about that. I'm just looking into it more. And obviously I would just want to make people aware, treat us all the same."

Katie began campaigning for Harvey's Law in 2017 and addressed the House of Commons Petitions Committee last year and believes it shows that stars have the power to use their fame for good.

The former glamour model said: "You know, when you're a celebrity, I hate that word, it just goes to prove like with the trolling campaign, you can use your power to create something good.

"So like this online trolling, trying to make it a criminal offense. It's been three years now since I've done the petition and we're nearly there."

Katie also confessed that she has had regular police visits due to complaints from the public that she has been breaching coronavirus restrictions during lockdown.

She explained: "I've had more police turn up at mine for COVID testing. I'm like, 'Why are you here again, I'm here? They're like, because of your Instagram. We've had complaints saying that you're not at home or this and that.

"We're like, 'What, do you think we've got a party?' I said, 'My son's extremely vulnerable. We're here.' I said, 'You've got to stop believing people when they ring you up. And I'm embarrassed."
